In 1980, Dr. Ada Tan Cheng Sing Mei —a visionary educator originally from Taiwan—relocated to Malaysia. While raising her own children, she noticed a widespread, silent struggle in local classrooms: standard curriculums completely failed to support children with short attention spans and varying learning speeds.
Driven by a mother’s instinct, she dedicated her life to decoding the mechanics of the young mind, pioneering the TCSM Brain Power Method. Grounded in neuroplasticity, her structured cognitive exercises upgraded the brain’s "operating system." Over the decades, Dr. Cheng’s methodology expanded to over 30 branches, unlocking the potential of more than 10,000 children globally.

The most profound testament to this method is Dr. Cheng’s daughter, Dr. Bella Tan. Raised with these advanced cognitive training techniques, Dr. Bella experienced firsthand how brain plasticity can be harnessed to achieve academic excellence.
Holding a Ph.D. from the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Dr. Bella’s advanced clinical research focused on neuroplasticity and specialized therapeutic approaches for learning delays. After immigrating to Canada and practicing medicine here for 10 years, she encountered her most rewarding challenge yet: raising her own four children right here in Nova Scotia.
As her children navigated the French Immersion school system, Dr. Bella witnessed them—and many other Canadian peers—struggle with the increasing complexities of math and language in a fast-paced environment. She realized that the transformative, focus-sharpening brain-training methods that shaped her own childhood were scarce in her new community.
Driven by a mother’s devotion and a physician’s precision, Dr. Bella stepped forward to bridge this gap. She committed herself to training a new generation of Canadian educators, seamlessly integrating the Theory of Multiple Intelligences with the time-tested TCSM method. Today, she shares this generational gift with Bedford families—making learning intuitive, expanding attention spans, and nurturing the independent critical thinking skills every child needs to thrive in the modern world.

We don’t just tutor subjects; we transform how children process the world around them through the TCSM 3-6-8 Core Framework:

By fostering comprehensive intellectual growth, we help increase cognitive agility and IQ, equipping students with the skills to think critically and solve complex problems with efficiency. Our approach prioritizes:
